As I write this on December 3rd, it’s cold, but not extremely cold. It’s been cold the past 3 weeks or so. in fact in the last 3 days the weather has been a bit all over the place. I hate you winter, please go away and make way for summer.
On the plus side, winter is usually the season you’ll find some great layering outfit (use that for style inspiration). It’s no surprise that it gets real cold this early on, imagine deep into the winter months. anyways here’s an example of how I cope with the drop in temperature. This look is all about the the outerwear. I Feel every guy should own at least one coat or 3 because this piece is the one item in your wardrobe that will anchor down your closet in the cold months.
As I said this look is all about the outerwear. I have on a classic single breasted camel coat from ASOS, I feel ASOS is a great destination especially for the budget mindful shopper, as they carry some great pieces at affordable prices and great fit.
It’s wool, so it’ll be very useful in cold temperatures, It has a very nice and slim silhouette, as with any other coat you look to purchase it is important for the piece to sit fit properly. I feel the camel coat is a piece every guy should own, because it’s a timeless, classic and iconic piece that’ll will be in your closet style for years to come. Think of it as the ultimate classic closet winter essential.
Seeing as it’s a bit cold but not wet or snowy just yet, I decided to go for other closet essentials. A black roll-neck or turtle neck and black chino trousers both from H&M. Both of these items are extremely affordable and well fitting.
And white sneakers or trainers from Adidas (another closet essential). These are some of the best and most comfortable sneakers around, they’re classic and timeless. Stan smiths are made completely of leather which makes them extremely easy to clean. If they’re good enough for David Beckham they’re good enough for me. All white sneakers just dresses down the look a little bit and gives it an easy laid back casual look. POP the collar and throw on some good old fashion ray bans for extra cool factor (JFK style).
It’s important to remember that when wearing a coat, suit or blazer a good rule of thumb is to button the middle button and never all the buttons.
Thanks for reading and hope you all have an amazing day!!
